2 Days Until Presentation
Almost done!! Right now I'm just constructing my poster board and my video which will be looping while I'm presenting. I still have a lot of work to physically do but I have it all mapped out in my mind so hopefully all will go well! :) My video has 3 girls all doing a double down which I will then show the physics showing the force it takes to do this move on the poster board along with the physics concepts of F=MA and others! lalalalaaa almost done yeee!

Last 20% A day!
Its the final week in our 20% project prep that will be done in class. It's interesting coming from being a dancer and having a dancers background to do this project because I get to see how much force I'm truly putting into my dancing and all the hard work that dancers really put on the floor. On my poster I'm also going to do a bio section for each 3 girls to show how experienced in dance they are and give a background on them. This will add a more personal aspect to my project so the audience will gain a better understanding of why I chose this topic :)

coming to the end
It's almost presentation time and I'm working on my poster board and a powerpoint (or possibly just a looping video). My powerpoint will include more of the visual aspects to the project and the poster tri-fold board will show the data and comparison aspect. I want to coordinate them together so that they are in unison. Ex: have a slide on my ppt that says data and comparisons are shown on the poster board or the other way around like look to the video to see what these jumps look like!

This week I have scheduled a time to work with my friends from dance. I have decided to scrap the idea of a x/y 2D jump because there is a lot of work that I would have to learn and do. I'm making a table of the masses of the 3 girls, height's of their jumps and the time for their jumps as well. I'm starting to understand what I'm working on a little bit more and more every week :)

I have started my experiment and am getting it set up but I need to physically complete it. It's kind of difficult to get together with my friends from dance because of our busy schedules but hopefully this week/weekend I will get that completed. I know that for my vertical jump I will video the person straight on as they jump and there will be a meter stick next to them so I can capture how high they jump. I might also have someone physically watch to make sure we are being accurate enough. I will use the 2/3 girls to see how they differ in forces. For the 2 lateral jumps, I will use meter sticks on the ground and standing up to tell how they are moving on an x-y plane. This will help me as I have to find the acceleration and velocity which I will need to imput the force=massXacceleration

I am going to video tape my friend Victoria and Christina and Meaghan at dance class doing lateral jumps like a leap and a pachenko but also look at a vertical jump. I'm going to be looking at the force it takes to do these different tricks in irish dance. When I video them doing jumps I will measure how high they are jumping, the acceleration and velocity that goes with this and the way I found the force.

I ended up changing my whole project to a different aspect of Irish dancing. I am using acceleration velocity and force to calculate how different jumps and moves affect how much the dancer has to work and make an effort. I will figure out what I will be finding and use 2 or 3 of my friends from Irish dance and document on video their efforts. This sounds a little confusing but hopefully I will shape what I'm doing. I will use the net force to make sure I'm accounting for the gravity and friction of the actual force exerted. Fnet=(F=ma)+(Fw=mg)
